The Call for Presentations is now open!
The 14th UK Dementia Congress returns to Doncaster Racecourse on Tuesday 5th – Thursday 7th November 2019
We invite proposals for presentations and posters on any aspect of support, care and treatment for people with dementia and their families, in any service setting. In addition, this year we would particularly welcome proposals on (but not limited to): technology, dementia care and living well; innovative projects and service developments; dementia care in acute hospital settings; end of life care for people with dementia; housing & home support for people living with dementia. As in previous years, a strong theme running through the Congress will be the experience of people with dementia, and involvement of them and their families in services at every level. As appropriate, proposals should show that this important aspect has been addressed in their project or service. As always, we welcome proposals on a broad range of topics. Please note that many of the oral presentations in the programme will be 12 minutes in length (though we may invite some speakers to give longer presentations).
Knowledge-based practice: The UK Dementia Congress is the best opportunity for professionals to learn from and be inspired by others’ experience, make connections and build bridges towards best practice in their own localities. All presentations should demonstrate how practice is linked to knowledge gained from research, experience, guidelines or expert consensus. We will give preference to papers that include an element of evaluation of a project or service, with scrutiny of the factors that led to success or failure, what were the barriers to progress, whether these were overcome and how, and drawing out conclusions and lessons learned on quality and cost-effectiveness.
Workshops: Proposals for interactive workshops are welcome, although space for these is limited. Please see the Guidance for Authors below for more information.
Posters: We welcome posters for display in the main Congress concourse (presenters must attend the Congress). Posters should describe a project or service with comment/evaluation, or report on research work.
Deadline for Proposals: midnight 28th April 2019
Applicants will be informed by the end of June 2019 if their oral presentation can be included in the programme. Poster presenters will be contacted by the end of July. Please contact Theresa Ellmers for any queries regarding proposals at firstname.lastname@example.org
