Caring Talks 2019
12th March 2019 - Savills HQ, London
The second in a series of Caring Talks organised by Caring Times, along with partners Barclays and Savills, aimed to be stimulating, provocative and thoughtful, was held on the evening of Tuesday 12th March 2019 at Savills HQ, London. This time around the Talks featured leading industry experts in technology.
The first speaker, Vic Rayner, Executive Director of the National Care Forum highlighted some of the ways in which the social care sector is adapting to and embracing the use of technology in both the delivery and organisation of care – ranging from developments in back office functionality to understanding how the provision of care is being shaped by new and existing technology. In addition, she focused on some of the policy drivers which are likely to escalate the agenda of tech based care.
Vic’s thought provoking speech was complemented by the second speaker, Annemarie Naylor, Director of Policy and Consulting for Future Care Capital explored the potential for data, new and emergent technologies to transform the ways in which we care for ourselves and one another in years to come. She talked about the need for a new Care Covenant, fit for purpose in the 21st century, and encouraged attendees to be bold in imagining social care futures.
Caring Times would like to give a special thank you to Carole Edmond for her expert chairing and valuable contributions, Barclays for their much appreciated Main Sponsorship and Savills for their outstanding hospitality.
