The Journal of Dementia Care, in collaboration with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) delivered the inaugural NAPA Benefit Dinner, which took place at the Malmaison Birmingham on 24th September 2019!
It was an evening of celebration and appreciation for the work of NAPA, complete with a silent auction, networking opportunities and enjoy a delectable 3 course meal and drinks reception.

Des Kelly is Chair of the Centre for Policy on Ageing, and was previously Executive Director of the National Care Forum – a post he held for 13 years. Between 1998 and 2003 he was Partnerships Director with BUPA Care Homes. He is currently working as the Care Provider Alliance Planning Lead on EU Exit.
He was co-author of Creative Homes: how the arts can contribute to quality of life in residential care, published in 2011. Des was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2007 for services to social care. Recent roles: Demos review of residential care; chair of the Advisory Group of the ‘My Home Life’; member of the CQC Market Oversight advisory group and The King’s Fund/Nuffield Trust External Project Reference Group on Sustainable Social Care and member of the Expert Panel on the future of Adult Care and Support in Northern Ireland.
Des is a trustee of Greensleeves Care, the Relatives & Residents Association and the Residential Forum.
