Using Lemon Balm oil to reduce aggression and agitation in dementia: results of a pilot study

Henry Cameron, Schalk du Toit, Giles Richards and Lucinda Bearns describe their pilot study to assess the effects of Lemon Balm oil on people with dementia whose behaviour challenges staff. The results do not support the use of Lemon Balm oil specifically, but they do suggest that nursing attention, touch and simple massage have therapeutic value.
